What does a actual 1972 z28 steering wheel look like
Smooth , no rope look surface
That would be the optional steering wheel. The standard steering wheel was a single bar or 2 spoke wheel. Sorry I don't have a picture of it the wheel shown above would be standard starting in 1973.
And the standard wheel would have a wood grain center if so optioned . There was no specific steering wheel for the Z28 option .
there were a couple of different steering wheels. the one pictured above is the optional NK4 steering wheel. the standard wheel was a single bar across the center with a horn pad that had Chevrolet in script on it. RS and SS cars had a similar horn pad but just RS or SS in the center. I am not 100% on cars that had the wood trim in the center. I believe it was just deluxe interior cars. but I could be wrong. most Chevy cars like the MonteCarlo, Chevelle, and Nova all shared this same steering wheel in 71-72, just the horn trim pads are different.
