I'm trying to find out about the nylon bushes that are on two of the starter motor leads.
Are they used with the wiring retainer that clips to the starter motor?
If so, is there just one retainer, supporting all of the leads or one lead per retainer clip?
    Photos are always a bonus.

    Cheers

Those nylon "barrels" are the connections for the fusible links.
(From the barrel to the terminal it's a smaller gauge fusible link designed to act like a slow-blow fuse to protect the rest of your wiring harness.)

The wires normally route through a steel tube to keep them away from the exhaust system.
