I am going to start changing from a column shift to a floor shifter on a 1970. I have the a factory "U"shifter, cable and center console. What else do i need to hook this up to turbo 350. wanting to make sure i have all the parts before i start. Thanks

You will need the bracket that bolts to the transmission pan bolts for the transmission end of the cable. If you want to hide evidence of the column shift you will need the sleeve for the column for floor shift car.

The floor shifter will require the backdrive linkage to make the steering lock work on the column. The Assembly Manual is a good source for pictures and part numbers.

I like cruising the Camaro out 550. Fun road to drive it on.

Correct me if I am wrong, but since it is a column shift car, isn't the back drive already in place and connected? It would seem to me the only necessary items would be the components noted above to connect the floor shifter to the trans.

Also...and this is just a thought. On column shift cars, doesn't the column shift lever need to be pulled toward the driver to disengage and allow movement out of park? if the column shift lever is removed, how would the disengagement take place when activated by the floor shifter?
