Other than undercoating what can I use? I saw some stuff at bus garage other day ,spray it on underneath and it stays wet like a film. I think that would hold a lot of dirt. I was thinking just some spray wax,or some lightweight oil I can mist on,any suggestions ?

You might want to give Fluid Film a look see . It's a long lasting (winter) spray available at Oreilly's.

Why are people driving a classic Camaro around in slated road conditions.

Yes by all means use FLUID FILM on all under car bare metal and painted metal for that matter

WD40 sprayed on the underbody everywhere creates a natural hydrophobic barrier-if moisture cant adhere, rust can't start.

WD-40 is pizz water compared to FLUID FILM or BOESHIELD T-9

but ANY rust inhibiting fluid is going to have to be reapplied as often
    as necessary !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Might smell like French fries when exhaust heats up.
