Purpose of an L-88 hood.

    I know it was originally for big block vettes but why was it developed? Was it simply to add extra space over the air cleaner? I have been searching for an answer to this but still cannot find one.

    like mentioned above the L88 hood is the best looking hood on a 2nd gen !!!!:)

    K5 I'm not a big fan of the later model 2gens but yours makes me like them. I love the way you have it set up. If I ever got one I would copy cat yours!

    I have to agree with Chuck and all the above, after having a 72 z-28 with a L-88 hood back in the day, and now have re-created " cloned " the same look.
    Also someone I knew back in the day who had a Motion phase III Camaro
    His car was the be all end all car to have and very quick.
    And they sound great when you get on it

    This striping technique makes the top center look like a shaker hood. Well done!! And great thinking of something different.
