pulley fit -power steering pump

    How can I tell if the pulley needs replacement? Should it slip onto the shaft and key by hand?

    PS pump is still new (installed with the rebuild and hardly any use).

    Original pulley (2 groove for ac) slides on by hand over the shaft and key but have not used it with the new pump

    A chrome pulley was used but wanted something other than chrome. Got rid of it so I don't know the key-way diameter

    Replacement pulley key-way is to small, fits a 7/64" drill bit and the original a 1/8" drill bit

    There are TWO ps pulley types:
    Pressed one and also a double pulley secured with a nut.(threads)

    Sorry, FIRST pic is from my 74 AC Camaro(double groove), you can see part number there.

    All three pulleys (original, chrome and replacement) are double groove for ac

    So, how can I tell if there are any problems with the original pulley fit on the shaft of the new ps pump?

    It depends what type of pump (SHAFT)you are going to use:
    BOLT ON slide by hand and use a NUT. Flat surface where the nut goes.

    PRESSED type pump(SHAFT) use a pulley with a lip to remove or install it with a special "remove/installer" tool.
