Police Drones

    You can probably buy one if you pay the price. Flying it might be another issue if there are any restrictions about manned aircraft where you live.

    Drones are unmanned. The military tried individual flying machines for soldiers back in the 50's. Two problems back then. Engine problems meant they dropped and up high they were an open target.. Then again, Dubai is where they have Ferrari and Lamborghini police cars.

    If I were to pilot one, I'd wear a parachute in case of failure. I'd let go and pull the cord.

    Probably wouldn't work well here. Too many nut jobs would try to shoot them down.
    Not sure what altitude they can achieve, but a parachute may not work well.
    An airbag like device may work. Put it on the underbelly so that it deploys just before impact.
