is that the factory steering box and steering shaft?

I got a part car afew weeks ago and it had the same thing.

I just know my 79 didn't have that, but the 78 did.

Very nice. What type of paint and application method? Any prep work between the before and after pics?

looks great. swapping motors this weekend. I'm going to power wash and paint while the motors out. what paint did you use. I'm thinking rust-0-leum spray paint.

    jose,
I have found Duplicolor is by far the best paint in a rattle can. IMHO
The acylic enamal is good stuff!

Frame and firewall/cowl look great! :D

I went through a similar process a few weeks ago.
I found that painting the firewall made the brake booster look like crap....
Replaced the booster... Master looks like crap...
Replaced the master... Hardware looks like.... You get the idea.

It's hard to know when to call it good, "While you're at it."

Good Luck and keep up the good work!

Might consider upper A-arm bushings while they are easy to get to... look a bit dry-rotted.

Otherwise, looks great... now get that motor in there... spring is here:eek:  :)
