You ain't gonna believe this, I'm helping a buddy do his tile splash, and he has a box full of nos 8 tracks, he gives me 3, led Zeppelin 1&2, and a Deadhead for a buddy. Gotta love it. My 78 has a 8 track in it.

My stepdad used to own a flea market store. He had hundreds of 8-track tapes in it. Wish I had gotten them before he sold the store.

I sold all mine at a local swap meet. I even had a few of the original OEM demo tapes that came with new cars.

That is cool, I am shocked at how much these old 8 tracks are going for on E-Bay. I really like Ozzy and his stuff was pricey, not that I have an 8 track player....but if I did...

I never liked 8-tracks and was very glad to switch to cassettes. A lot of my 8-track tapes started coming apart in the 80's. I figured it was old age and the silver strip that made it change tracks would come unglued. I used to record on 8 tracks and still have some bad ass concerts on 8 track that most likely will never get played.

Backup in 71 I installed an after market "state of the art" 8 track/fm unit and a second speaker in the rear shelf of my wife's 70 sport coupe as a bday present for her. The 8 track works well to this day and seems to draw more attention than the car at car shows. it Surprisingly some people doen't even know what it is. Before long cassette and CD players will be an oddity to future generations.
BTW- Anyone have a 1970 Chevrolet 8 track demo tape in good condition? IMG_20170130_151432.jpg IMG_20170130_151432.jpg

I have several home stereo systems I've acquired through the years as well as recording equipment. One will transfer from 8 track to cassette and another will transfers cassette to cassette. They were high end equipment back then and while none of it has been used in years, I'm sure it would work just fine now. I also have a pile of vinyl albums, some of them collectors issue, that I need to do something with.

Several years ago, I got one of the Crosley replicas that will put records and cassettes on CD. I've never figured out how to get it to work and whoever wrote the instructions, didn't have English as a native language. I've got some of my mothers old 78 rpm records I'd like to save. I remember playing them as a kid but a bunch have broken over the years.
