Modest beginnings...swapped over my Z28 taillights. Had to steal two of the four sockets from the passenger side as well, the red car's sockets disintegrated in my hands. 20170417_210239.jpg

Got poly mounts installed, new heater core in box and box fitted back under the dash, new Hotchkis sport springs up front, new poly sway bar bushings and end links, moved radiator/electric fan unit from old car to new car (and retrieved a 7mm wrench my youngest dropped in the radiator three years ago) and painted the front calipers red. Tomorrow morning I'll start on the rear end conversion. If I can't transfer the GM discs over I'll just swap the entire unit. They're both 10-bolt posi 3.73 but my old one came from a '78 WS6 Firebird with factory disc brakes, although the one in the red car appears very clean and dry.

Got brake swap completed over the weekend and began prepping power plant for removal from black car. Unfortunately progress will be halted while I vacation to Pryor, OK for the "Rocklahoma" music festival over the weekend. Should have the black car for sale once the engine is pulled and hopefully secure a transmission package!

Got the fiberglass AC delete box installed (RTV was eventually smushed all around the perimeter and tubes; I just wanted a "clean" pic first lol). New heater core just for assurance as well. The big hardware was the easy part although still quite a feat to me. Now what to do about blower motor resistor and wiring it all up without AC...after I get a transmission and engine package in it. 20170531_141046.jpg

Dumb question, and probably leaning way too far ahead here, but it's been so long since my old black car had a heater I cannot recall which hose goes where. The core's upper tube is 3/4" hose and lower tube is 5/8" hose. Which one goes to radiator (and other to manifold water crossover)? If anyone has a good length for both (up along passenger inner fender well) that'd be grrrrreat. Mostly planning how to get lower hose onto core before inner fender, engine and exhaust greatly complicate things. Thanks!

I used the original A/C heater core on mine.I got a 1969 heater box from a friend of mine.and used a small enforcement bracket from a 1969 big block Camaro. I made up my own hoses.I used AN braided lines .with a fender well bracket from a 1969 Chevelle. And some billet ones. But you can use some regular ones and do the same. I have worked on multiple Muscle cars of all brands .So I think outside the box to incorporate what will work for you. 130044932860518017_26257430996_o (1).jpg
