I bought a 290 hp Chevy crate motor at the start of the year. Finally I'm getting around to putting the engine in and noticed the passenger side head has a plug in the head after the front exhaust port for coolant while the drivers side does not. My first concern is why is this not there? The engine has tape over other area's that should not be painted and there is paint in the threads. Am I going crazy or should there be a plug in both sides? I'm a little scared about what else might have been missing......

I'm thinking about using this port to control my electric fans. Either way does anyone know the thread size? I will need throw an adapter and a temp switch in there or plug it.

    thanks,
    Robert

It is probably for a temp sending unit. A Pic would help.
