Long story short.....this is the 1st car I ever had. I ended up destroying it about 5 months after I got it when I got tangled up with a full-size Dodge van.

It started it's life as an '80 RS with 14" N90 wheels. It was a factory grey car with white interior. When I bought it back in 1993, someone had painted it RED all over.....in the door jams, under the trunk lid, etc. They covered it pretty well.

It sat for 2 years while I saved up money to 'rebuild' the entire front end. I ended up buying a Z28 front clip and hood from a '79 that had been hit hard in the rear. I had the whole car scuffed and primed and drove it that way for a loooong time. Tore up the transmission a couple of times and then decided I wanted more power. And during all that....life happened with a new wife and baby, so the car was put on hold.

It sat and sat, until I decided I'd had enough. The elements of nature were deteriorating the car fast. Here are some pictures through the years until recently.

The car with front seats from a '91 Trans AM. They're a LOT more comfortable than the originals...

Here's some pics of the car torn down as the painter began repairing a LOT of rust spots.

Quarter panel replacement. He had to do some reinforcement on the passenger side due to excessive rust damage. He welded some chromoly tubing in there and sealed it all up with epoxy.

After the passenger qtr was all welded up and smoothed up, we were pleased to learn the driver side was in much better shape. Just a little finessing the metal and knocking out a bit if bondo somebody else had smeared in there once upon a time. So it was time to blast it all down to the bare metal.
