I picked up this car labor day weekend. I had been looking for the right second gen for a while, but life and 1st gens kept me busy. After building everyone else's cars for a long time, I decided it was time to build one for me. Working 50 to 60 hrs a week hampers progress, but at the same time makes the resources available to get this done at a reasonable pace. I picked up the roller with the 4-link and most of the cage work done. It's mild steel so I know I can't go quicker than 7.50. Build will basically be a street legal race car. I'll update as time allows, but here's the progress for the month. 20170904_132826_resized.jpg 20170904_121926_resized.jpg IMG_1989.jpg IMG_1967.jpg IMG_1979.jpg

I ordered some 90 degree v band to T4 adapters, not liking the placement as it will cause some issues with the rollcage. The placement would also require radiator relocation. Looks like I'm going to go with some straight adapters, and may have to do some more fab work. I think its time to get rid of my dormant 67 Camaro project and buy some more equipment. I hate borrowing the TIG welder since it doesn't fit too well in my Suburban.

Way overdue update, and pretty much hit the "reset" button. I had decided to get rid of the 2X3 back half and mild steel cage. I contacted the previous owner to see if he was interested in buying the stuff I removed, as he had stated he would be interested in anything I didn't use/need. I bought the car when he was in a tight spot, I know he didn't want to sell it. So, we came up with the idea of swapping cars since he had a ladder bar back half 73. Except it was basically complete, but had a 78-81 style glass nose which I didn't want on a 73. He really wanted his car back, so basically we swapped roof/quarters/chassis and I get to start over on the mock-up. I kept the nose/doors etc and installed them. He got back his car that he didn't want to sell, I got basically a car that was further along, technically complete. Has a current 8.50 cert and could be on the track as soon as I drop in a drivetrain. I may just wait till after this season to update the back half and cage. Body is almost back together, going to get it all lined up and paint it this month. Then back together... Again. LOL.
