Have wanted a tilt steering column for my 70 Camaro 4spd and found a nice tilt from a 79.... Looks like after reading up some that there are changes. But can it be made to work or not worth the hassle?

It should fit since they are basically the same car

It will work, But 79 has a double D shaft ( where in connects the column to the steering shaft). You will need the shaft from the column to the steering box from the 79 also

^ That's the physical problem with the swap.
It will take some reengineering to swap compatible parts for the steering shaft.

There may have been some wiring harness changes also.

The plug is also different but not hard to swap your existing one in
