not sure I would say the headlight kit is hi dollar, I believe you can find it online for about $20
I've used Brasso before..worked OK...
but any plastic polish or polishing compound will work just the same or even better than using a so called 'headlight restoration kit'
I use Meguiars Plast-X on tail lights, headlights and cluster lenses.
If the plastic is scratched, I use a 1500 grit wet sanding block first.
I usually wet sand them out starting with 1000-1500 depending on how bad they are then continue with 2000 and finish up with 3000 and then hit them with a buffer with any kind of non abrasive compound. There used to be a sealer for these things but wax seems to at least slow down the degradation.
i have used this also and it worked awesome!
I've had decent results using "000" and "0000" steel wool, followed up with car polish.
I've also been pleased using just this...
I color sand and clearcoat them. They don't yellow again.
That's an interesting idea...never thought of that.
wouldn't the clear start chipping from stones/bugs and such? Seems like a solid idea, just not sure how you would handle that if it occurs
