WOW! what were you doing at the time? a wheel stand?
I have frame connectors too, but there is one thing I never do since I don't drag race and that is a launch, I've done a lot of roll on's, just don't launch it because I don't want to scatter the rear all over the road! I'm running about 535hp with about the same torque which incidentally is the reason for "Z28500" like over 15 years, (Z28535 just doesn't sound right)
You ought to put up a pic of that '72, we'd all like to see it! with some shots of that cage! Did it like point up way in front of the seat in front of the door hinges so it's easy to get in and out?
    Cool Cool Cool!
    Way Cool!
By the way, I was just reading about removing the glass with a guitar string and they would break sometimes. I think maybe one of those Flexible saws from Academy might work (garrote)

Pretty much wheel stands. I street raced it and would leave in 2nd and slide off the clutch at around 4-4500. I can'r remember which clutch I had in it at the time. It was from a pulling truck a friend of mine ran. That car ran hard. I'll have to dig up pics of it. I traded it in '04 or so for Corvette parts like a moron.

Before it had sub frame connectors, one night, I raced a supposed really fast Subaru and beat it easily. Afterwards, we went to a QT and when we got out and shut the doors, both doors wouldn't shut. Luckily my friend that was with me, his Dad had a frame shop. It spent about 12hrs on there getting squared up and getting the sub frame connectors put in while ZI ad it tore apart to go up to the 388 from the 383. The cage came after the windows incident. The doors bars just went under the dash and made it not horrible to get in and out of. Today I probably would have had issues wit them. Haha

Sounds COOL! Sounds like you have some fun experience in racing!
I remember when I still used to street race a little, I was coming out onto the highway and here comes this approx 2008 or so Mustang spraying it. How I could tell? Because I took off fairly fast, but not too,
and at that speed I was used to spanking most Mustangs, but this one was almost keeping up which surprised the heck out of me. I mean this hasn't happened before! Not one that fast!
So I down shifted into 3rd and floored it (Wouldn't anyone here?)
And left him, but still not as fast as I was used to with 'stangs!
Then, all of a sudden---- he just turned into a little dot in my rear view. Then it hit me---- he let go of the button,
Funny story, even with nitrous he couldn't keep up. Probably a 75 shot, maybe 125. But if he had 300, 325hp that would still put him in the 400's
