Happy Birthday to all my Brothers & Sisters
Semper Fi to all Marines everywhere.
Happy Birthday MARINES.. I did not see this one til now. Thank you for all you have done. I served in 1984 to 88 active then did my last two inactive to 1990. I got called up in the last year but when I showed up all dressed up in my A's, the Lance God laughed and said I did not have to dress. I could have gone as a slimy civilian. He handed an envelope to me. I asked what's this? I thought SH*t I was going to Iraq B/C some of my buddies did get called up. He laughed again and said it was a pay check. I got 180.00 just to show up. I asked why the hell didn't you guys call me the year before? I turned on my heels and booked.
Tell me this doesn't get you motivated listening to the Drill Instructor call cadence !!
We're older than you, we're older than you!!!!
I got caught up in listening to a bunch of the ones that kept coming. Kind of funny. None of them seemed to come close to what My Senior Drill Instructor sounded like. Staff Sergeant Lumpkin. He had that southern Baptist church thing going on. It was really something to hear.
Listening to the vid I posted it reminds me of my SDI SSgt Brandimarte
One thing I never understood, why the hell did we spend more time marching around,
then in a class room, fire fighting, shooting, ship board knowledge/skills, etc etc !!!!!!
I just got back home tonight from the local Marine Corps Ball. I had a great time with a lot of other Marines. The oldest Marine was a 93 year old Marine who served in WW II. For him, it was 75 years since he started boot camp.
242 years and still looking great ,Semper Fi fellow Marines.
