Yes the LS7 is happiest and safest as a N/A engine, it can and has been used with superchargers but it's not recommended for high boost. The LS3 would be a better choice for forced induction but also has its limitations since it doesn't have forged pistons. Honestly....A turbo car I would save the money and work on a 5.3LS and put the right parts in it for forced induction.

I'm thinking I'll keep the dry sump, sure solves the oil pan clearance issues, even though the factory dry sump isn't the best system it has to be better than the relatively shallow F Body pan.

Everyone I know who has an LS7 Corvette (~20 people) has needed to go through the heads. Some of them caught it early enough; a couple had the valve drop and ate the motor. This is over a variety of production years.
GM has definitely tried to downplay this but there is an active class-action lawsuit over the LS7 heads covering thru 2013

The F-body pan doesn't hold a ton of oil, but I believe the 5th gen LS3 pan is a higher capacity. I'm using the Peterson Drag tank which they custom modified for me. I had them add AN fittings and remove the heater bung. They told me it shy of 3 gallons.

There shouldn’t be any issue using an OEM F-body pan.
