Need to replace intake gasket on a 1971 350 w/alum heads. Is one gasket set better than another? Leaking at the back.

Front and back leaks are fairly common. I hear of some people who don't use the front and rear gaskets, but use silicone only in those places. I can't say how that works out.

I use Felpro #MS90314-2. I use a high heat silicone on the front and rear without any issues.

Never use the rubber or cork end gaskets. The best is gray Permatex.

I had a problem with a vortec intake leak. I used the permatex grey like copo described with no gaskets and it has been good for several years. It works!

People rave about Right Stuff RTV all the time. I may have to try it sometime. I don't know what makes it better than regular Permatex RTV but I have never had a problem with regular Permatex.
