I found that Hurst Drivelines has a really nice how-to sheet on dialing in the bellhousing.

Pardon me if I am telling you something you already know, but once the dial indicator is installed in a good place, then spin the crankshaft 2-3 times (at least) to make sure you get consistent results as you look for the centerline of the crank. Once you have that identified then it's a breeze to figure out how much alignment (and where) you will need to perform. I lucked out and my bellhousing did not need any alignment.

The circled numbers, are the first go round, where 12 oclock is marked "0".
The second set of numbers is where the most negative reading on it is then reset to the new "0",as per Jodys instructions.
So,my bellhousing has to move towards my 3 oclock.

Yep, as long as you are within spec then that's all you can ask for. Glad that was the issue since it's an easy fix.

    Think I specced that wrong,lol.
    I would need .006 to the left(3 oclock)so a .007 offset dowel,not a .014.

Well,I'll tell ya,it was a battle ROYALE getting that drivers side dowel pin out of the engine.
There is an outcropping oil boss right there in front of that thing, preventing you from knocking it out.Vise grips from the front didnt go well either.
Had to remove the clutch pivot ball from the motor.
Luckily,it was already broken off in the block, lol.
I finally got the dowel pins out though.3 foot 1/4"X1/4" square rod, kept hammering.Passenger side was easy, just had to drop the starter and knock it thru.
Ordered the clutch pivot bracket from scoggins dickey for the other thing.

The battle continues as the UPS guy drops off more things.
Dowels came this morning, put them in,housing was within 2.
Had to bang the clutch tool into the clutch cause it was too tight to do by hand.
Figured maybe they are making them tighter now,for better alignment.
Thought Ill just use channel locks to pull it out when Im done. NOPE.
Called Mcloud, and they said that isnt normal. So I took it back off, after thread lock and torque, and checked it with my input shaft just to make sure it wasnt a bastard clutch. It wasnt.Got a bastard tool.
So Ill put it back together again tommorrow, and my magic bracket should be showing up I hope.
