We have a wall mounted flat panel TV in our bedroom, and the cable box was sitting ontop of my dresser for years. We just got new furniture, and that just wont work anymore.

So Im looking for ideas on what to do with the box. Its a Comcast DVR, so its pretty bulky compared to others Ive seen.

Anyone using a remote extender? Ive also seen some DVR wall mounting kits, but they seem to stick out too far and look gawdy(sp?)

Just looking for ideas. What'cha guys got?

I installed a 52" TV at my Brother In Law's house, and the mount he got was sort of scissor like-ish, you could pull it out from the wall, turn it, tip it, you name it. The bottom of the wall mount had an accessory you could mount to it that was a shelf you could set your components on. It had a channel that you could hide the wires inside of leading to the TV. I put the electrical and cable out let behind the TV in the wall so nothing was visible.

Put the box in a closet or in another room and run the cable from there?

Duct tape it to the back of the TV.

Wires not cleaned up yet after install.

This was my first mock up after I mounted everything.
It's all cleaned up and centered now, but this gives you a basic idea.

If you want good idea, goto http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/ and check out some of the setups.

Depending whats on the rear wall (perhaps a big enough closet) you could build in a cubby if ya want a cleaner look. I did that to house my avr and amps cable bx etc.

WOW, those racks can hold some weight! I think this is my best/easiest option.

Ace, how far do the boxes sit out from the TV? My TV is about 8" from the wall at the top and the box sits out about 15", which means half the box will be sitting beyond the TV.
