1980 'Maro, since I put on my 2" cowl hood I feel like I'm sitting down in a hole. I can't see nothin'. So I want to raise my seat. Today a played around installing stacks of fender washers until I got the height I want.

I'm going with a 1" raise, by the time I get the new carpet in that should do the trick. Obviously I can't just use a stack of fender washers as a permanent solution, so if one of you kids can offer some spiritual insight on making a bracket that would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe 1 inch box tubing? Although it is measured by the inside.

Back in the day I used some pieces of 1X2 wood with holes drilled for longer bolts. I even trimmed them in wood shop in school so there would be a slight backwards slant.

I found the same thing with a 4" cowl hood so raised my driver's seat about a 1/2" with spacers made of thick aluminium flat bar under each mount.

Electrical conduit with washers tacked on either end to keep them from sliding. I saw that in an old truck with a Caddy seat.
