Drop base for sure. i think i bought a Summit unit 12 years ago. I spent a few years getting hood clearance right. The stock air cleaning was highly modified and donor air cleaner from the junk yard. welding, cut holes for the distributor, then added a conversion van spare tire chrome cover to hide the weld marks. Oh this is on a 1978 Trans Am where hood clearance has to be spot on. Heres the final results if I can get a picture to post here. Elde RPM air gap, with 750 Holley, 406 chevy powered.
