Thanks! I finished up welding the back edge of the trunk floor where I went a little too deep with the spot weld cutter. My tail panel should be here by tomorrow so hopefully I can get that mocked up and see how it fits. I can't put it in until I fix a couple of spots on the passenger frame rail.

    Thanks man!!

I got the tail panel the other day, so I mocked it up with the inner tail panel and the quarter to see how everything fit.

You can see I'm missing the filler piece that attaches to the tail panel and the quarter. The filler pieces are pretty mangled, I'm taking the best parts of both and try to recreate each one. If I fail I'll see if I can find some used ones.

Would it make sense to get a piece from a donor?

Yeah it would but I'm using a 2 pronged approach to this though. I'm making some and looking for a pair at the same time.

Time to update this thread a little.... when I pulled the tailpanel off I knew I needed to replace the last 3" of the framerail and bumper mount. I cut the rotten pieces out and I had good solid metal so I made up a new end piece and got it burned in.
