Help Engine decoding

    Hello, i'am from Germany, new by Nastyz and my English is very bad !
    I need help for Decoding my Engine.
    On the rear side is standing : 3970010 and K12.
    In front left is standing : FG 263 and the Number 151420795.
    In front right is standing : KII 02 CMJ.
    Anybody can help me ?

    Welcome to the forum. I cant help you much but my 71 block has that same 3970010 and its a 350 4 bolt main. Someone else will jump in soon who knows what the other numbers mean.

    The CMJ code was used in 1974 and 1975 on full size Chevys for a 350. For 1974 is was used on the police optioned cars and in 1975 it saw wider usage to civilian cars too.


    Edit:
    after studying the VIN farther, I think I have it decoded.
    1=Chevrolet
    5=1975
    1=Oshawa, Canada assembly plant
    420795=VIN sequence number

    In 1975, Oshawa built Chevelles and Monte Carlos, and their VIN sequence started with 400001, so this car would be the 20,695th car built.
    CMJ coded engines were installed in A body cars. (Chevelle and Monte Carlo0

    These are good information, i had fear that it is only a 302.
    So a good basis for the Tuning.
