heater core leaking

    Why don't you replace the heater core? Our car, a 73 w/out AC, wasn't as bad a job as the internet will tell you. Just budget a day and find a kid who can get a wrench on the hard to get to parts :)

    I thought you could just put a half inch plug in the water pump and a half inch plug into the intake to bypass it? That is what I did. Anything wrong with that?

    You can buy a fitting that is 3/4 on one end and 5/8 on the other at any parts store.Simply cut the hoses at a easy to get to place and insert the fitting.This will get you buy.But I would go ahead and set a day aside and replace the core and install new hoses at the same time.No big deal to do.Just time consuming.
