So I’ve been doing alot of research on headers for second gens and I have been hearing alot of different things but no definite conclusion on what to order.
I heard Dynatech is pretty good and I also know Hooker is good too. It comes down to what type of SBC header, preferably long tube headers, do you guys prefer?
My car does sit pretty low and I am running a 385 roughly 500hp... I would like 1 3/4 thick primaries.... currently running 1 5/8 Hedman PN: 68278 with 2.5 piping
I will be going to a 3inch pipe when swapping out my headers...
Lastly I'd like them to be ceramic coated or even stainless....

So to sum down the factors of what I am in search for is:
    1. Best Fitment still being a long tube
    2. Ground Clearance
    3. Thickness 1 3/4 or bigger
    4. Ceramic coated or stainless

Please let me know if you have experience with some headers that fit my need! I am very open to all suggestions and tips.

    Thank you guys im advance!

I have the hedman 65104. They are 1.75". Fit awesome. No problems with ground clearance. I had mine coated. The bottom side of the header hangs just below the sub frame, maybe .75".

After 2 sets of 'non-fitting' Hookers, I bought Hedmans for wife's '71 (auto trans). They were so easy to install that I could have opened the hood and tossed them in place......... Okay, I kid. But they were the easiest I have ever installed.

DANG, all the Hedman fans out here! Thank you so much guys!

Btw CZIZZA thank you so much for the photos, it looks like you have the set up that I want to run, cutouts and everything!!!!
What brand are your cutouts and where did you get the Y pipe for the cutout mount? I seen some on summit.... how is fitment in that location? I am currently running a th350 but my incoming 4.10 gears will probably have me looking into the future of a 700r4...

I have Dynatec Dynamaxx long tube headers, 1.75/1.875 primarys, 3" collectors, ceramic coated. They are nice with a really good flange, but they due hang a bit low.

I think Ive seen those before on a car at the show, they looked very strudy and built nice. That’s what originally had me looking into dynatech.
