I have a 305 all stock..I found a set of 416 heads but they've already been worked .500 springs and bigger valves. My question is can I use these without putting a new cam in or will I need to put moor money in the bottom end to ?

Just in my opinion, that head, or any other head is not a bang for the buck deal with a 305. Save your money and buy a 350 based engine, they're very reasonable for the HP vs the dollar spent.

    BTW, welcome to NastyZ. :)

I agree with Corky. The 350 has more HP potential than the 305. Drive the 305 while you build the 350.

Yes you can use that head but I’d check the valve to piston clearance unless the pistons are dished a lot. Flat top pistons I’d check, dish pistons maybe not.

I wouldn't mess with a good running stock 305. I would invest in a 350 if more power was needed.
