Is this going to be the no door bars club? Something like the tube doors fad.

Ya got any details/Photos of that?
I cut out the crash bar last night, took an hour to do both sides.
Just gotta weld the area together again.

it is a lot easier when they are cut in half, it will come out full just have to force it a little. there easy to cut in half, grinder with big cutting wheel. there is some space behind the brace to door skin.

^^ Agreed! Don't do this on a car without at least a roll bar. If you ever get T-boned, you will have two layers of sheet metal between you and another car, and its going to hurt. It took me 7 years to get the balance of street vs track to the point that this was warranted.

Having said that...heads up! The hole has to be a full 2" by 8" for the bar to come out easily. Mine took some 'enlargining', and some beating.

Despite using a 1/2" bit, it took some beating with a BFH anda pry bar to get the welds all broke free, but once they were, it came right out.

20lbs out of my '73 door, and more to come with the hole saw.

I would think that is common sense, but a good reminder.
    Mine will be 12pt/maybe 25.5
