How do you know it isnt all rusted out? The pic below was the frame rails of a supposed "restored" car I purchased as a parts car for my build. The outside looked pretty good and was recently sprayed white.
Also sellers from craigslist usually LIE about everything. Trust nothing, confirm everything for yourself with your own eyes. HPIM2455.JPG

Agree with other “unknown” engine is a big big ?.
Just saying 500hp out of a SB is possible but it is also a huge number and thinking you can get another 100 with out hard parts by turning the distributed is IMHO unrealistic. I would be glad to be wrong.

Looks great! Dryvit for good solid Drive just see how good it runs and if it spark knock pings and if the brakes work right steering is tight. Check it real hard for rust up under the car and with a magnet. If you like it make an offer based on what you find.

Id take a sharp screwdriver to the underside of the car and see whats soft and whats not. Its a PA car so likely rusted out/ crappy repairs then spray bomb to hide. Ive seen a bunch in person and right here on Nasty. The upper control arm bushing dryrot tells me its a hack resto. The 500hp claims and "detuning" claims tell me the seller is a typical bullshitter. Offer him $6000 but be prepared to put alot more into it than that.

The car photographs well. Every picture looks great to me except the undercoating. I'm not sure on the value of these cars and the range is pretty wide. I would like to see a pristine underside for $16k. You wouldn't think a guy would spray undercoating over a pristine undercarriage but some people are just strange. It may only be worth $10k. I would have a better idea on value if I was shopping for one for a while. This one needs a closer look at what is under the undercoating.

I don't think I would give more than 10k for that, and that's pushing it. $7500 would be my limit. There's nothing really special about the car and def not restored.

FWIW I seen a guy selling an unrestored / unmolested 1970 camaro on the facebook groups in the last week for $16k that looked in similar shape as this one
