    I like the idea, however, at 44mm or .472" seems a little large, right?

    should be ok I think. diameter is 12mm, which is. 472.

    44mm is the length.

    the current LED housings I have are .400 dia. so its only about a .035 per side increase in diameter and I have plenty of room for that.

    the next size down was 10mm which would have been too small I think

    All it needs is a shift lever on the column. ;)

    at some point I need to put in a non column shift steering column yeah... lol..

    You might be able to simply replace the collar where the lever attached.

    With your skills... You could probably fabricate one!
