Garage lighting

    I put 4 4 tube, 4' fluorescent fixtures in the 2 car garage. They're just home store kitchen type fixtures with plastic diffusers. They were maybe $50 each. The garage is lit.
    Before there was a single 4' tube.

    Bought these at Home Depot for $50 each and with the T8 daylight bulbs they are awesome. It's like being outside. Do yourself a favor, install too many lights. You'll never be sorry.

    I've played with LEDs some and they do put out some serious light, very low current draw, last forever. But they are expensive in high power bulbs, but the big drawback I see is that they really make for dark shadows. No real diffusion that you get with standard types. Good in combination with standard lamps. Some of the newer fluorescent fixtures have solid state ballasts, not good in cold weather.
