I have an 81 camaro with a 79 gauge cluster. My fuel gauge stays between 1/4 and 1/2 no matter how much gas is in the car. What could be causing this?

Bad sending unit, or maybe the wire going to and from has an issue. COuld also maybe be the gage.

Probably a sending unit which is stuck in place.

I agree with the guys above. Our cars are bad about sending units going bad.
