So, my 78 z has the factory ratchet shifter but it doesn't work, I mean it shifts normally but when you push it to the right and try to shift up it won't move, anybody have any ideas how to fix this?

    My 78 SC (305) had one but my 80 Berlinetta (V6) didn't.
It's nice they are a simple, direct swap.

Remove the console and take a peek at what is causing it to bind.

not even close - the vast majority are regular shifters unless it was a Z28

I'm picking up an 81 Berlinetta in a few days.....regular shifter
