Electric Cutout Location Help

    This was my old 3" exh system and toy can see how the cur outs were routed , the cutouts were just past the front subframe

    Old racers tale on collector length, from back in the 70's (likely before that) was to take a crayon and start a mark where the tubes merge. Mark back about 2 feet, then crank the engine and let it get plenty hot. At the point where the crayon stops melting is where you cut your collector, and most say the magic length was 16 - 18".

    Exactly, I'm old, and that's what we always did!!!!
    Where it stops melting the exhaust starts slowing down, and you cut it there.

    Great tip, makes much more sense now! Definitely have to try it!

    So what type of SBC header, preferably long tube headers, do you guys prefer? My car is pretty low and I am running a 385 roughly 500hp... I would like 1 3/4 thick primaries.... currently running 1 5/8 Hedman PN: 68278
    I'd like them to be ceramic coated or even stainless....
