Ok, not sure where to post this , so here it is. I want to get rid of all the different fuel lines on the 80 z28 and just run one line like in my 73. We don't have emissions testing around here so no worries with that. So can I put a single line sender from an earlier model and just plug off vent tube ? Would it fit 80 gas tank? Or, just use 80 sender and plug everything but main fuel line? Thanks everyone

I would not use it. Just use the correct one. The resistance might be different and your gauge might not work properly. The vent was probably to prevent Vapor lock which happened on older cars.

I put one in my 79 that had just one line. If I remember correctly, the two options were for an A/C car or non A/C car. The one line sending unit ones were for a non A/C car.

Ok, so I was wondering where the other lines went on the one that would be an a/c car then. My 80 gas tank had 2 lines out of the sending unit., 1 large 1 small. I know the large one was gas line to carb, but where did the small one go? Also, there was another vent tube coming out next to the sending unit, what was it and where did it go? I have nothing to go by on this, thanks

The small line is a return line from your fuel pump

GM was 0-90 ohm for many years, my concern wound be if the depth was the same

The sending unit for say a 70 to 73 will not work in a later model Camaro. If you get one for a non-A/C car for your year, it'll work. It will have only one line.
