I have installed the L88 hood and now have a flat air cleaner bottom instead of the drop base I had to use before, with a 3.5 filter and a K&N filter top, Fits fine now,
All I need to do now is stripe it.

People argue with me about this all the time but this one here is THE L88 hood that Joel Rosen designed for the Phase III cars. Yes in the later years when people were sending him used cars to modify he would use the shorter version of the L88 that Harwood made. I'm unsure of his reasoning for doing this but the company that makes the original Rosen designed L88 is still in business and is still using the original molds.
I honestly don't like the short version, it just looks like its incomplete.

I like the longer version also, I thought the company was near Phila. Pa.

I didn't know there was a short and long version, Can anyone tell me which one I have? I am thinking it is the long version.
    Thanks.

Yours is the short version. The company that sells the long version now, supposedly from the old Motion molds, is - http://fiberpartsconcepts.com/1273634.html located in PA. They are a vendor at most of the larger (Spring & Fall) Carlisle events and usually bring 1 or 2 L88 hoods with them.
I bought mine from A&I Fiberglass in Elkridge, MD (no longer in business) in 1977. At the time they had those same molds.

I take it that there is only a couple of inches between the 2?

I just measured mine (with the cover on) from the front edge on the hood to the top of the first rise = 13.75".

Big difference, I just measured 20 inches.
Is that where you measured yours?
