    Hi All
There is some sort of clip or little bracket in the top front of the door opening that sticks out when the window is closed. Is it needed? Mine on both sides are pitted with surface rust. This isn't my car but it shows the clip/bracket I'm talking about.

    Cheers

Window blow out clips is what we call them. They are there to prevent the windows from leaning out at higher speeds. Without them, you get a lot of wind noise as the window pulls away.

The blow-out clips are riveted to the weather strip channel.
The clips are reproduced but I don't know if they include replacement rivets.
