According to the complete book on camaros. Author (david newhardt) it did. Others say they ended in 72 or 73. My thinking was they might have brought them back in 74 to counter some of the weight of the big bumpers.Any original 74 z owners out there?

No, It came with cast iron intake and was painted the chevy orange color just like the rest of the engine block. Also, the 73 Z28 came with the same type of intake. I believe the 70-72 Z28 or SS came with the aluminum intake. Some 70-72 owners need to inform us about what intake came on them.

    Info I got was ,
73 Z got 3997771 cast iron intake. 74 Z got 340261. (I don't know if these are part numbers or casting numbers) All SS cars got cast iron intake, except L78 for 1970 70 , 71 , 72. Z28 350 was aluminum also

By the way, 74 Camaro had aluminum big bumpers. I think they weighed less than the chrome steel ones on 70-73's but probably not when you add up the shocks and braces and such.

Aluminum intakes ended in 1972 (LT-1). Don't believe everything you read...most of these books have false information, incorrect photos, etc.

If you want to run an factory aluminum intake with EGR , There are the L-82 Corvette Q-Jet intake manifolds.Or you use an aftermarket one.and grind off the company logo .Then sandblast it.
