My names Ryan and here's my 81 z. This build is because I hit a deer for second time. First time was when I just got done with resto 6 years ago . I got on road and few days later I hit deer head on,3000.00 damage. Painter did a hack job and looked bad. I just dealt with it until I decided to get new nose and have it painted. Eh,it turned out worse. I just lived with it again. I guess I got lucky when hit deer last month,I got 4700.00 in ins money this time, bad thing they canceled me until I fix it. They said damage more than 75% of car worth. Also on way home from hitting deer my motor started ticking bad,I lost a pushrod. Now motor shot also. I'm hoping I can fix the 406 block,I haven't had it looked at yet. I think she's done and new block in order. So far I took out the subframe and painted it with kbs frame paint. It turned out okay, had some rookie mistakes that made it less than perfect . I'm overly picky and want stuff exact. My plans are to get a efi gas tank, efi carb and put it on 406. I'd like a super charger with 600hp and a roller cam. Or I'm going to swap in a lsi and build that up with a 5-6 speed.

image.jpg Turned out okay, the paint was thick and went on heavy and I also got some water mixed in even with a filter on it. Now I got 3 filters on it and realized heat is a issue when painting also.

I got all trim off and start interior removal tonight. I'm getting whole car repainted! I have to kick in some of my money but the ins is mosly covering it! And with the prep I'm doing I will get a primo paint job! I got new rad support from rock auto,it fit perfect. It was almost identical to old one,it even weighed the same. I got that installed also.

image.jpg First build tear down, this is why I put new door skins on! I was lied to,car was in accident when I bought in 1988. Was rear ended ,found glass under carpet still, scummy liars back in the day.
