    Hi,
I just got a loaded Z-28 with a factory deluxe red velour interior. The dash facia is black. I notice on some other loaded Z's that they have the brushed aluminum dash facia. Why is this?

Brushed aluminum was on the Berlinettas.
Colored aluminum was used on 79-80 Z28s.

Interesting mine is a 1980 and I just saw another 1980 Z on Ebay (blue interior) with that brush aluminum finish. He says his is all original and mine appears to be unoriginal. Differernt plant production or differnt time of year?

IMG_4170.PNG Ok it seems in 1980 that gm used a " black crackle " instrument panel . The z54 option gave you " appliqué on the bezel " ?? Assuming brushed aluminum as the Berlinetta . There was no special dash for the Z28s so assuming the Z54 package was not available on the Z28 , it would be black .
