Converting from oem 3 wire alternator to one wire

    As the thread title states , how do I go from a oem 3 wire alternator to a one wire alternator . What's all involved in wiring and my battery is in the trunk !!

    that trunk part CAN be a big PITA. There are several OPINIONS here on NASTY about that and it being a street car. Good luck, to each their own. Not sure why anyone would want a SINGLE wire alt after learning why/what the 3 wires are for.

    battery relocation, trunk mounted battery ....etc.

    and YES ... MAD electric is AWESOME.

    If you're having charging issues with a three wire alt, they wont get any better with a one wire alt

    Mine was wired from the alternator right to the battery. worked fine. Not sure if since you are going to the trunk you should go from alternator to a common point under the hood, like where you are grabbing power for your accessories, and then to the trunk. I like to oversize the alternator wire, and would do so in your case running to the trunk.
