What do you guys make of these bearings? they are basically brand new. the motor was never ran. what's with the scoring and discoloration? the motor was assembled and sat for probably 2 years before I disassembled it. 20171029_074611.jpg 20171029_074510.jpg

If it never ran, How could they get discolored? Those scratches would concern me. Did some one chamfer the oil passages on the crank? Might not be as smooth as it should be.

I have no clue. the scratches were more concerning to me than the discolor. I'll probably toss them I was just curious if the motor never ran why they would look like this. I'm guessing it wasn't a clean assembly

Just curious. If it never ran, why the disassembly? It's probably a good thing that it never ran. To me that looks almost like it was assembled with no assembly lube. That could have happened while rotating the crank installing pistons and rods.

Dirty assembly AND/OR mis-matched bearings from ANOTHER dirty assembly. Either way, it's do-over time. Clean everything, check clearances and put in new bearings.

You got hosed. Sorry. It happens.
