I am about ready to change them out on my '74.

Any tips or tricks that anyone can share before I screw it all up?

    Thanks!

Is this for the horizontal window felts on the outside of the door?
If so, take off door panel completely to get to glass stop in bottom of door.
Loosen the nut and take out the glass stop so you can lower the glass under the window felt to get to all the tiny screws.
Other than that, it is a pretty easy job.

    Good deal!

And what about the interior door panel side of things? How hard is it to swap them?

On the inner sweeps you have to pull all the f'ing staples out that attach them to the top of the door trim panel
I then drilled 1/8" holes about every 6" and riveted the trim to the panel

So glad I found this thread! I dyed my uppers last night and the replacement felts came with screws    I don't think so! I was about to use some flag yard marker rods to emulate the staples but the rivet idea will be wayyyyy quicker. Thanks

Well I need to get some rivets that have a longer grip length because 1/8x1/8 were not long enough. Did you guys use 1/8x3/16# 43 rivets or something else. The heads in the pics look like larger diameter than 1/8?
