Hey guys I am debating upgrading my travel trailer

Question is travel trailer or 5th wheel

The 2 I'm interested in are 5k apart in price

    Both around 33' long

Just not sure which way I want to go, my truck will handle both fine and is set up for a 5th wheel

Money aside I'd favor a 5th wheel for most any trailer over 30'. For a trailer less than 30' I prefer a travel trailer aka 'bumper pull". But when you consider that the TT has the 5K advantage I'd go for the TT even at 33'.
    Let the Debate begin....

A 5th wheel will let you have more room inside. I've never pulled one but I did drive a truck for a while and I've always found 5th wheels to be easier to hook up by yourself and to back into places. With the tag a long type hitch, you have to account for extra leverage.

My Next door neighbor had both in the past. He used a big 4x4 Dodge Diesel. He liked the 5th better. Since then he went to a motor home around the same length with the Triton V10. IDK why. But that is what he did.

I have a TT and if I had my choice I would go with 5th wheel toy hauler now. It would be so much easier to do all the things I want to on a camping vacation or going out to something like Sturgis.

I had a 37' 5th and while it had a ton of room with a garage, it was an absolute pain to back in anywhere. I hated that part of it. I prefer bumper pulls for ease of backing but the 5th will make it easier on the truck with pin weight vs tongue weight from bumper pull. If you do the bumper pull, make sure you have a good weight distribution hitch with sway control like an Equalizer hitch.

5th wheel is so much easier to maneuver, and the handling is 10x better than a bumper pull for swaying. I have a 35' camper, and it pulls smooth and turns pretty tight.
