I've done all the searching but haven't quite found how to mount the passenger side bullet mirror. I have the metal bracket and plastic piece, but apparently I am missing a metal support on the inside of the door???

The driver door has" nuts" welded on the inside of the door skin:

The passenger door has clearance holes:

My searches say I need a bracket on the inside of the door like this (never seen this before):

    Anybody know what I'm missing?

You are missing a bracket like that.^

A steel strap with a couple of holes drilled in it for the screws should work fine if you can't locate the proper interior pieces.

I had new door skins installed on my car and don't have any issues with no support on the inside of the pass door.

Thanks for the replies guys. Damn, it's always something, eh?!
I can't for the life of me remember a bracket like that. Much less how it would fit.

Search it on ebay and you'll find an example (pictures) of the factory part.

I just used a piece of 14 gauge steel and glued it to the inner door skin with seam sealer. My mirror seems pretty rugged and doesnt jiggle when door is slammed.

I trimmed a little of the inner structure so I could fit a small wrench and nut to bolt the mirror down securely. I didn't want to take a chance of the mirror falling off at high speed. So far it is strong enough for 140 mph.

    Doc (CamaroDoc),

Thank you for the message, PM sent to you.

    Carl (docs 79 z),

No, the Camaro is not finished yet. Getting close. Have the interior to complete. But...it's fun as hell to drive!
I'll give you a call so we can visit. I live near Chandler Blvd and McQueen.
