Ive driven only a few times. I noticed when pressing the brake it makes a sound of hearing the fluid gushing/pushing through when the rake is pressed. The brakes work, though not as good as I would expect and nothing is leaking. Is this something obviously needing attention with the brakes? Seems it might signify air in the lines or something simple.

Sounds like a bad diaphragm in the brake booster. Not a fun job but it's doable with some patience and a swivel head ratchet wrench.

Thanks CorkyE. You think the GM dealer will take me for a ride if I bring it in for service? It's been 30 years since I've played as a mechanic...I have tools still, but the office world has made me a little soft I guess. One day I hope to get that grease feeling back!

Any trustworthy local repair shops in your area?

I'm trying to figure that out and I have one suggestion on a local repair shop.
