I'm helping a buddy put a 454 in his 77 formula firebird, and I know this is a camaro forum, but I figured I's ask here because the 70-73's got big blocks if I'm not mistaken. Im assuming there were no significant changes to the firebird/camaro subframe that would cause issues, so what motor mounts should we use? He had an olds 403 in the car.

    BBC were 70-72
72 used the same mounts as the small block
So 72-81 SBC mounts will work

Make sure that your headers have clearence, if you are using the 1973-81 Clam shell mounts. Otherwise you can use the 1970-71 setup which has all steel frame mounts for frame(bottom) and Hard rubber/steel motor mounts for engine. If you use the second one I have real nice 1970-71 frame mounts with GM part numbers on them. $50.00 for them
