Looks like nice work. Are you going to mount SCCA and or IMSA type flairs on it ?
I'm a sucker for analog. I have some Autometer Ultra-Lites for this car.
I have a set of IMSA/IROC style flairs for the car. The rears need some tweaks.
And just how much "aero 'can you have on the car? The IMSA cars of our era were pretty wild.
No that much. I can have a front splitter and rear spoiler, both limited in size. Probably can't get away with that style flair either. This is what I'm looking at:
I couldn't resist a little more progress on the dash. At the 2014 Nationals I saw a car with this same switch panel and became obsessed, so I had to get one for myself.
I will be adding a few more bits (cut off switch, idiot light for oil pressure, reinforcement bar) to the panel, and adding a tach off the roll car down tube, but it's coming together.
And the view from the pilot's seat:
For some reason, putting this in, even for mockup, made it really start to feel like a car.
Have you seen the 1980-1 IMSA Kelly American Challenge on YouTube. My 1979 Z-28 RS is more a street version of those car, With some vintage parts ( like a Vette Brakes C-4 Corvette adjustable monoleaf suspension). Good luck on your build.
Very cool. I love that front end, but unfortunately it's not allowed in the rules.
Can you use a stock 1979-81 front spoiler with a "splitter " attached,Just a thought,
You can use a splitter, but it cannot extend past the bumper as viewed from above. So that limits what you can do.
Paul, car is looking good. Not too much longer and it will be moving. Can't wait.
