Auto cross tires?

    What size and kind of tires do you need to run to be semi competitive at local auto cross events ( cam-t)?

    well that question opens a WHOLE can of worms, BUT to keep it simple 245 width or higher (275+ is would be much better) .. and I think in CAM classes there is a 200 treadwear rule, SO sticky "200" rated tires :)

    I was thinking 17x9 on all four with 275s up front 285s in back nitto 555s. Would like kuhmo xs or Goodyear ds3 but they are 2x the price.

    The NItto NT05 would be a better choice, BUt how many miles does the car see a year ?

    Idk how many miles its been so long that I have had it all together less than 2000 I would guess a year.

    THE tire to have right now is the Bridgestone RE71R. 18x9 with a 275-35-18 would be perfect.

    I would use 18" wheels, there's more size selections available 18's. The Bridgestone RE-71R and the BFG Rival "S" are the 2 stickiest 200 treadwear tires right now.
